Today in my Japanese Lit Class…

We reviewed terms of aesthetics, including the term 間 (ma). It’s about the appreciation of open space, silence, of nothing. That the absence of anything is just as valuable as the presence of it. I’ve always loved this concept.

Japan. Japanese web designers. Whyy. WHYYY is this never applied to websites?!?!?! WHITE SPACE EXISTS YOU GUYYSSS. APPRECIATE IT. EMBRACE IT. LOVE IT.

Not that they would care, but I would love to tell the Yankees showing off blazing down the streets on their insanely loud motorbikes that no one gives a fuck and we all just want some quiet at 1 in the morning.

This isn’t my article, but I think anyone that’s planning on spending springtime in Japan should take a look. I’m starting to realize that pollen affects me a lot, and since the pollen is starting to blow I’ve been getting headaches, a runny nose, etc etc.

Because I read the article I decided to get medicine, the nose mask, and Lycee eye rinse (pictured below)

It’s only been a day but the advice from Justin has helped a lot. xD I took the medicine and realized that the headache I’d had for a couple days was gone. Beautiful feeling. I’m excited for the upcoming weeks when school starts; going to school headache free and no embarrassing sneezing on trains. =]

Typhoon today. Before we found out that it was going to be bad, Katie and I went to go meet her friend Mage in Shinjuku for some lunch and Karaoke. It was fun, but coming home was terrible. We split up around 5 or so, Katie and I didn’t get home until after 9. Mage apparently didn’t get home until 12:30 or maybe even later. =___=

The photos above represent two roundtrip paths. One is my usual route from my home → Shinjuku → Shibuya → Home again, but the second is my interpretation of the actual route we took. Japanese train systems rock right up until the weather turns bad. Then it’s a terrible terrible thing. ^^;;
